About Color Guam Color Guam was established in 2015. Local Artist Taliea Strohmeyer, reproduced original works of art into affordable open edition prints to be sold in Guam’s local market. In 2015, Strohmeyer and her husband Tom, produced Guam’s first interactive coloring book called “Explore, Learn & Color Guam” featuring the islands historical sites & popular spots in print and audio – translated in English, Chamorro and Japanese. At the same time she started offering ceramic and glass painting sessions at the former Guma’ Tasa located in Mangilao. Due to the high demand in her customers’ desire to paint on canvas that was affordable, she offered her first canvas painting event at Port of Mocha in February of 2016. The event was packed and it continued to draw locals and visitors.
In July of 2016, Color Guam moved from having painting events in coffee shops into a permanent studio in Guam’s capitol, Hagåtña. With over 1,300 sq ft in. of open space, Color Guam can hold paint parties, fundraisers, private lessons and it’s signature painting event.
Strohmeyer is a graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle, she studied mixed media art at the Accademia of Italia in Florence, Italy and learned sandstone carving in Bali Indonesia.
She has had numberous one woman and shared exhibits on Guam and was commissioned by the Guam Power Authority to create works of art for the Gloria B. Nelson Multipurpose Building in 2015. She continues to sell her work of art to private collectors.To date Strohmeyer has sold thousands of affordable art prints and has continued to share over 25 years of experience in art to her customers.
